Jay & Sierra’s Firsthand Booking & Renting Experience

a man and a woman sitting on a bedLooking for an adventure to break free from cabin fever this spring, I scour the internet for things to do near me, my quest leads me to rawwatersports.com.

Nestled in the charming hamlet of Puce in Lakeshore, Ontario, they offer an array of thrilling water activities for Windsorites and visitors alike RAW Watersports is a family-owned watersports company.

My excitement brews as I discover the possibility of renting boats and jet skis right here in Windsor Essex! Why commit to owning a watercraft when I can simply pay for the experience? From jet skis to pontoon boats, fishing boats, kayaks, and scenic boat cruises, RAW Watersports has it all.

Browsing through their website, I find a treasure trove of pictures, videos, and detailed descriptions about their fleet, making it effortless to envision my perfect day on the water with family and friends. Thanks to their integration with FareHarbor, real-time booking and live availability makes securing my desired date and time a breeze. Look ma, no phone calls required! I simply select the boat or activity, decide on the duration, (I opt for a 3-hour rental of the pulse-quickening Sea Doo Switch tritoon boat) then select an available slot highlighted in green on the calendar, and with just a few clicks, my aquatic adventure is set in motion.

But before I set sail, there are a few essential details to note about renting a boat or jet ski from RAW Watersports: A security deposit is required on the day of my rental, and fuel usage will be charged at the end of my rental and deducted from the security deposit. While the possibilities on Lake St. Clair are vast, RAW Watersports’ boats cannot venture to American shores. To ensure everyone’s safety, smoking and alcohol are prohibited onboard, and only pets under 20 lbs are allowed. It’s recommended to peruse their FAQ page before booking to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for me and my guests.

But I don’t have a boaters license? Fear not, for RAW Watersports has me covered with an inclusive package: when booking with RAW Watersports I will enjoy a complimentary Temporary Boaters License for the duration of my rental, and all safety equipment required by Transport Canada is provided. Each rental includes a thorough watercraft orientation and safety briefing, ensuring I’m fully prepared for my adventure-filled day on the water.

Now that I’ve selected my date, I don’t need to be a psychic to guess what the weather will be like on my chosen day, because they have me covered with their Good Weather Guarantee. Once I’ve paid a 50% deposit, with just a couple questions answered, my booking is confirmed and I receive an email from RAW Watersports containing directions to Puce River Marina, their home base, along with a link to complete a digital waiver in advance, expediting my check-in process on the day of my rental. Because on the day of play the last thing I want to do is paperwork and payment.

The day before my adventure, a friendly reminder email lands in my inbox, complete with a link to settle any outstanding balance and a prompt to complete my waiver if I haven’t already done so.

As the big day arrives, I make my way to RAW Watersports at Puce River Marina, 930 Old Tecumseh Road, Belle River, ON N0R 1A0, where their enthusiastic crew eagerly awaits my arrival directly behind the Sandbar Waterfront Grill. Following a warm greeting, any remaining paperwork or payment is swiftly taken care of before embarking on my on-water orientation and safety briefing.

Under the guidance of their experienced crew, I familiarize myself with the boat’s controls and features, gearing up to take the helm and become captain for the day. After a brief return to the dock for some final pointers, and to let their crew step off, it’s time to set sail on my own and create unforgettable memories on the shimmering waters of Lake St. Clair.

Upon my return, the RAW Watersports crew is on standby to assist me in safely docking the boat. I called ahead as they had requested by calling the number on the helm of the boat. As I idled into the marina I see them, standing on the dock waving to welcome my return and ensuring a smooth and stress-free conclusion to my maritime adventure.

As I step ashore, my heart brimming with joy and accomplishment, I take a moment to savour the experience. Whether I’m sporting a windswept mane or a gleaming smile, I’ve embraced the spirit of adventure and emerged victorious as #captainforaday.

But the fun doesn’t end there. I walk over to the Sandbar Waterfront Grill’s waterfront patio, to indulge in delicious bites and refreshing beverages while reliving the highlights of my day on the water.

Now that I’ve glimpsed the ease and excitement of booking a boat or jet ski adventure with RAW Watersports, I wonder, why would anyone buy a boat when this service is so fun, convenient and affordable?

I seized the opportunity to craft my own on-water escapade and create memories that will last a lifetime and you should too! Oh, and as an added bonus; a few days after my rental I am provided a returning customer discount on my next booking. Sweet! I’ve already reached out to friends and am planning my next boat day with RAW. This time maybe we will book the longer 6-hour pontoon boat rental and cruise down the Detroit River to check out the construction on the new Gordie Howe Bridge.

Book now and embark on an epic aquatic journey with RAW Watersports!
